The Y-7 aircraft series was originally based on the Antonov An-24 / An-26 aircraft and has since been improved by Xian Aircraft Industrial Corporation, part of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), for both military and civilian use.
The latest versions incorporate western components such as turboprop engines and avionics and are marketed primarily for the regional airliner and cargo market.
These include the widely exported Modern Ark or MA60, which can carry up to 60 passengers and its latest version, the MA600. Another version under development is the MA700 and has room for up to 70 passengers.
