Russia receives another 5 Su-34 strike aircraft

The Russian Air Force has received another 5 Su-34 strike aircraft from the Novosibirsk aircraft plant and will be based at an air base in Voronezh, which had received its first 5 Su-34 aircraft last December.

The aircraft delivered are part of a contract for 32 Su-34 aircraft signed in 2008. Out of these aircraft, 6 were delivered in 2011.

Another contract for 92 Su-34 aircraft to be delivered by 2020 was signed in March 2012 to bring the total number of Su-34 aircraft ordered to 124.

The Su-34 was put into series production in 2008 and is meant to replace all Su-24 strike aircraft in the Russian Air Force and Navy.
